If there is something that is one of the most vital determinants of the popularity of a fanfiction, spelling and grammar are it. A fanfic can have a genious-level plot, but if it is difficult to read, you won't have as many readers as if you had checked it grammatically. I cannot stress enough the importance of having your works spelling and grammatically checked! Personally, as a reader, it is one of the most annoying things to find something I'm reading. Makes me want to stop reading all together. If you absolutely have no time to do it yourself, you can always get a beta reader, someone who will proof-read your work for you before it is published. To help people with this, I will create a thread within the "Nuts and Bolts" category to connect beta-readers with authors...I hope you will make use of this service... Until next time! A. Moonchick
