To all you Harry Potter fans out there this is a definite news flash!
Topic: Mom's push to sue J.K.R.
Mom's around the world are opposed to JKR! Why you may ask? They say that her writing of the "Wizarding World" is bluff to make witchcratf look good and not the "evil devil work it is"
Many experts say it is teaching children to honor and appreciate witchcraft in a way it shouldn't be. Now as the gossip colonist I'll state my opinion. Its not the witchcraft they're "honoring" its the adventure and the characters and the amazing writing and center of the story. A good story isn't about the use of realities like witchcraft in Harry Potter its about being transfered into another world that relates to magic.
Have an opinion about the issue post here!

I think that those moms and "experts" must have skipped the part where it said FICTIONAL WORK. Witchcraft, I believe, whether or not real, is a belief system. Personally, just because I learn about it doesn't mean I'll practice it. Plus, who's to judge that witchcraft is really evil? They aren't God. They look so Puritan in their belief that witchcraft is all evil. That's why the Salem witch trials didn't last that long. Geez, those people need to read something else and leave the kids to their enjoyment!

If they are trying to sue JKR, they should sue anyone writing fantasy. There's witchcraft in LotR, heck, there's even witchcraft in the Odyssey! But they're not sueing Homer, are they? Some people... ~Silvestria~

I think the real problem here is that no one wants to take responsibility for their own kids anymore. There was a whole deal going on about some idiot putting up a blacklist of fic authors because in their opinion, it wasn't age guarded enough. Here's a scary idea... Supervise your kids! My son is not old enough to be on the internet yet, but as I understand it there are programs to restrict their access, and tell you what they have been looking at. An even scarier thought is to spend time with them and know what they are doing. You can be sure I supervise what cartoons and movies my son sees. If you are concerned about something... *cue scary music* TALK TO THEM ABOUT IT! *stepping off my soapbox now*
